Jazz at Noon – Milwaukee Podcast | Episode Fifteen "Live From Linke's Living Room"
Andy Blochowiak joins Don Linke on Episode 15 of the Jazz at Noon podcast to discuss how his teaching as a percussion instructor has been affected and modified throughout the COVID-19 pandemic. Teaching more than 50 students per week, Blochowiak describes the measures he has taken to ensure each of his students remain safe yet able to receive meaningful instruction.
The three selections in this episode were all recorded on July 29th, 2020, right in Don Linke’s living room. You’ll hear Linke playing the upright bass in all three songs, and he is joined by Pete Billmann on guitar and Andy Blochowiak on drums.

Songs:
“When I Last Saw You” - Pete Billmann - An original tune from Pete Billmann himself.
“Seven Steps to Heaven” - Miles Davis - The trio performs their rendition of this Miles Davis composition, which was recorded and released in 1963.
“Take the A Train” - Duke Ellington - A retooling of the standard Duke Ellington tune; the trio uses an unusual rhythmic treatment of the melody and swings the solos to perfect their own version of the classic.
